On behalf of the 2018/19 Executive Committee, re-elected or newly-elected at last night’s AGM, I’d like to thank members of Clwyd South CLP for trusting us with the ongoing direction of the local party. Also, thanks are due to those choosing to step down from roles for the work that’s already been done. The past 12 months have seen us make huge strides in both the way we represent our local area and how we contribute to national policy and government. We now have a flourishing women’s forum and youth section and continuing progress in the promotion of the Welsh Language, LBGTQ+, BAME and disability awareness. We’ve fought a number of successful local elections and played a significant role in campaigns to save the Welsh Independent Living Grant and adopt the One-Member-One-Vote system for electing Welsh Labour leaders. There’s going to be no let-up this year, that’s for sure. As Tory policies continue to hurt, and their lies and incompetence, further exposed, we have to redouble our efforts to keep socialism strong in Wales and put Jeremy Corbyn into No. 10 Downing Street. Thanks for all the great work that’s been done so far and, if you haven’t joined us yet, please do!
Vic Grout, Clwyd South CLP Chair
