Jeremy Corbyn launched the Make Homes Safe Campaign on 9th November because thousands of families are living in high-rise properties in the UK, yet only an estimated 2 per cent of blocks have sprinkler systems. The evidence is clear, fitting homes with fire safety systems, like sprinklers, saves people’s lives in the event of a fire.
Clywd South CLP will be writing to Theresa May to urge her to set aside vital funding in the Budget for local authorities and housing associations to fit sprinklers into tower blocks.
We need as many people in our CLP to sign our letter — both online and offline. A copy of the letter will be available at our CLP meeting at 18.45 on Friday by one of our coordinators, Louise Bosanquet, and we will be asking people to add their names as they arrive. It will also be available to sign at the end. Please look out for Louise and add you name to this letter.
