Llafur Corwen Labour
Inspirational words by the leader of our Labour Party kick started a resurgence of political interest in an otherwise lacklustre political world of 2017 this year. The upsurge in Labour members of this Ward of Corwen and district lead to the formation of a Corwen area Branch of the Labour Party. It has resulted in three local Councillors being proud Labour members and to a branch full of inspiration and positivity and with a determination to get the message out: To provide a real alternative programme to the stark choices at the election – to stop the system being “rigged against” the many and to “build a country where we invest our wealth to give everyone the best chance”. Jeremy Corbyn’s foreword says: “Let’s build a fairer Britain”…. so let’s do it, here, in Corwen.
Mi wnaeth geiriau o ysbrydoliaeth arweinydd ein Plaid Llafur ailgyfodi diddordeb gwleidyddol mewn byd a oedd, fel arall yn fyd gwleidyddol anodd ym 2017. Mae’r cynnydd yn aelodau Llafur Ward Corwen a’r dalgylch yn arwain tuag at y ffurfiant o gangen ardal Plaid Llafur Corwen. Me hyn wedi deillio mewn tri cynhorwyr lleol i fod yn aelodau Llafur balch, ac i gangen llawn ysbrydoliaeth a chadarhad gyda phenderfyniad i sicrhau rhannu’r neges: ‘I ddarparu rhaglen amgen go iawn ar gyfer y dewisiadau yr etholiad – i atal y system rhag gael ei arwain yn erbyn y nifer ac i adeiladu gwlad lle yr ydym yn buddsoddi ein cyfoeth er mwyn rhoi y cyfle gorau i bawb.” Mae rhageiriau Jeremy Corbyn yn dweud: “Gadewch i ni adeiladu Brydain decach”… ac felly gadewch i ni wneud hyn yng Nghorwen.

Here are the current officers of Corwen BLP
I came to live in Corwen four years ago, and run a smallholding just outside the town. I also run my own business, training riders and horses, and providing physical therapy for horses. I have been a member of the Labour party for many years, and have taken the opportunity of the forming of a branch in Corwen to become more active locally and within the wider constituency. I have had ties with North Wales since my student days, when I went to Bangor to study, and later to train as a teacher. I am looking forward to helping to build an active and effective Corwen Branch, and being involved with the issues affecting the town.
I am a member of Corwen Town Council and presently I am the Secretary of the Corwen Branch. I have been self employed since 1982 but have also had jobs in a knitwear factory, a kitchen design shop, and since moving from mid Wales to North Wales I have been a domiciliary care worker (both at management level and on the ground) for the past 8 years. For 15 years I was the Chairman of Wales Craft Council and sat on Fforum Crefft Cymru. I currently have my own shop in the middle of Corwen. I have been a member of the Labour Party since 1979 but lapsed a few years during the late 1990s until reviving my political interest in 2015. My political interests are to help the community in which I live and serve to prosper and to support the socialist ideals of Our Party. I have one grown up daughter who lives and works locally and my children were brought up as Welsh speakers, proud of their heritage. My interests are all creative based, particularly the arts, but also health and social care. I am enthusiastic about supporting the Llafur Corwen Labour Branch to develop.
I am a member of Corwen Town Council and presently I am the treasurer of the Corwen Branch.
Over the past 30 years I have been a teacher and head teacher, having worked in Denbighshire and Flintshire. My current post is part time for Coleg Cambria as a bi-lingual lecturer. Throughout my career in education I have had much experience in attending and holding meetings, both with parents and the communities to discuss wider issues.
For the past 12 years I have lived in the Upper Ward of Corwen. I am keen to interact and contribute to Labour using the skills I have and the experience I have gained throughout my working life.
In the main, my interests are sport, especially football. I have two grown up daughters and three grown up step-sons and two grandchildren which keeps me and my wife on our toes!
I am enthusiastic about supporting the Llafur Corwen Labour Branch to develop.
